Step-by-step instructions

Begin by standing in front of a sturdy, flat surface such as a box or step that's about knee-height, with a dumbbell in each hand.

Step up onto the box with one foot, pressing down through your heel to lift your body onto the step.

As you reach the top of the step, lift your opposite leg out to the side until it's parallel with the ground.

Lower your raised leg back to the ground in a controlled manner.

Step back down off the box, then repeat the movement with the opposite leg for the programmed number of reps.
