Step-by-step instructions

Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand.

Bend your knees slightly and lean forward from the waist. Your chest should be parallel to the floor with the weights hanging straight down.

Raise the dumbbells to the sides until they are level with your shoulders.

Reverse the movement by lowering the weights back down in a controlled fashion and repeating.

Keep your back straight and avoid using your body to lift the weights. Control should come from your shoulders and arms.
